Automatic flash
In freerun mode, the automatic flash feature works in the same way as in trigger mode. As a result, the flash output is continuously or almost continuously active (see illustration below).

Manual flash synchronization
It is recommended to synchronize the flash manually in freerun mode. This applies to both rolling and global shutter sensors. In freerun mode, the manual flash synchronization works in the same way as in trigger mode.
