The IDS uEye Nion 3D Camera is a high-resolution 3D time-of-flight (ToF) camera based on advanced indirect ToF (iToF) technology using the ON Semi AF0130 Hyperlux™ sensor. It delivers 1.2 MP (1280 × 960, QuadVGA) depth resolution, enabling precise 3D imaging for various industrial applications, such as industrial inspection, automation, and robotics. Operating with Class 1 940 nm laser illumination, the Nion provides reliable depth data in challenging lighting conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments.

The integrated lens offers a 71° horizontal and 57° vertical field of view, delivering a balanced combination of coverage and detail. Within a working range of 0.3 m to 7.5 m (depending on scene reflectivity and mode), the camera generates high-density 3D point cloud data for accurate object detection, measurement, and scene analysis. Configurable working modes allow users to optimize depth range, spatial resolution, and accuracy for specific applications via software.

At the core of the system, the ON Semi AF0130 iToF sensor minimizes motion blur by capturing and buffering all four phase images required for depth calculation directly on-chip before readout. This eliminates readout gaps between exposures, reducing motion artifacts and ensuring stable, high-precision depth measurements, even for fast-moving objects.

Designed for industrial environments, the Nion features a compact, rugged housing with IP67 protection. Lockable M12 connectors for GigE Ethernet and I/O ensure secure, vibration-resistant connectivity. The camera supports an operating temperature range of 32 °F to 95 °F (0 °C to 35 °C) and can be powered via external supply or Power over Ethernet (PoE++), simplifying system integration in factory and field deployments.
