The polarized cameras feature a Sony Polarization Image Sensor with a four-directional on-chip Polarizer. The sensor measures the polarization properties of light that are imperceptible to the human eye. Polarized filtering reduces the effects of reflections and glare from multiple directions and reveals otherwise undetectable imperfections in objects. Polarization enables detection of stress, birefringence, through-reflection and glare from surfaces like glass, plastic, and metal.
SVS-Vistek SWIR, UV and Polarization cameras allow machine vision and industrial applications to go beyond what the human eye can see with technology that uses polarization or wavelengths from infrared to ultraviolet.
