JC1MS lenses are the same optically as the JCM series. The sole distinction lies in their mechanical design, with minor dimensional variations of a few millimeters in the outer casing. A key change in the JC1MS series is the addition of numbered scales on the outer barrel to indicate precise focus and iris positions, replacing the near/far and open/close indicators found on the JCM series. Functionally, however, both series offer identical performance.
