Opto Engineering PCHI 360° Lenses
Inspect holes, cavities and containers in perfect focus

Opto Engineering PCHI 360° lens lens Opto Engineering PCHI 360° lenses inspect and image the inner walls and bottom of objects like holes, bottles, cones, cylinders, and threaded objects in perfect focus without no need for an optical probe. Due to the very high field of depth and a wide angle of view (>82°), the same lens can be used to image objects with different shapes and dimensions — clearly showing details and defects. PCHI 360° lens are available with 3 focusing options; a manual (locking), manual (gear) or integrated with Optotune focus tunable liquid lenses.

  • Inspect walls and bottom of an object without an optical probe
  • High resolution
  • Wide angle of view (>82°)
  • Image objects with different shapes and dimensions with the same lens
  • Designed for inner inspection of objects

Opto Engineering 360° lenses are high quality lenses with superb optical performance. They are specifically designed for 360° inspection of objects, and are widely-used in machine vision applications such as automotive, pharmaceutical, and beverage inspection. There are many 360° lenses and options. Our Sales Engineers can provide expert advice and guidance on selecting the right lens for your machine vision 360° imaging application. Notes

  1. Working distance: distance between the front end of the mechanics and the object.
  2. Working f-number (wf/N): the real f-number of a lens in operating conditions.
  3. Measured from the front end of the mechanics to the camera flange.

As shown in the table below PCHI 360° lenses can image cavities with a wide range of diameters and thickness. The table lists the maximum cavity height for high-resolution imaging (small pixel sizes) and normal resolution imaging (> 5 micron pixels) applications. The "r" ratio specifies the percentage of the detector area that gets covered by the image of the hole's inner walls. These working distance values ensure that the object image is inscribed exactly into the detector's short side to maximize the "r" ratio and resolution of the image.

r(%) = (Side view height px / Detector short side px) * 100
